MOCO - The Monitoring Committee for Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation in RTD

The MOCO is a forum bringing together Senior Official representatives from the Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC) and the EU Member States and Associated Countries, responsible for RTD issues. It has been established in the context of a Euro-Mediterranean Partnership and of the follow-up of the Barcelona Process, and plays a central role in monitoring and stimulating the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in RTD.

• The 9th meeting of MOCO in Cairo in 2003
• The 10th meeting of the MOCO was held in Tunis on 28-30 June 2005

• An ad-hoc meeting of MOCO took place in Cairo on 18 April 2008
• The 12th meeting of the MOCO will take place in Istanbul on 6 November 2008. Jennifer will present the results of the INNFORMED project at this meeting.

The MIRA project coordinates communities of practice in innovation science and technology acts as a gateway to support cooperation between the European Union and the Mediterranean Partner countries. It brings together the Mediterranean Information Points, for the EC Framework Programme FP7. It effectively provides the MOCO with an operational platform for dialogue and continuity for their joint work between meetings.
